The Eliza Doolittle Project

WHO'S ELIZA DOOLITTLE?  Eliza Doolittle is NOT Dr. Doolittle's sister.  She is a character in the movie "My Fair Lady," a flower girl from "the other side of the tracks" that was transformed into a "lady" by Henry Higgins with grooming and lessons in manners and diction.  CETA Foundation believes that inside every animal, no matter how they look or act, there is a beautiful "lady" or "laddie" waiting to come out.  The work we do with each animal helps them find and stay in a good forever home.

CETA Foundation takes animals that other rescues can't or for owners who are being forced to give up their beloved pets.  We provide medical attention, spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip ID, and basic training so that these wonderful animals can go back into our communities as good companions for a deserving family.  We advertise our ready-for-adoption animals  on Petfinder.com and Craigslist.  We ask for modest adoption donation to cover some of the cost of doing this. (The real cost is much more.)

  • Have you thought about adding a furry friend to your family but not sure it fits your lifestyle?
  • Have you wanted to expose the kids to the responsibilities of pet ownership but don't want to commit for the long-term?
  • Have you wanted to help save homeless animals at the shelter from certain death but hate walking into those facilities?
  • Want to learn some basic animal training skills?
  • Then become a foster parent!   We don't have a shelter facility. We need foster homes. Dr. Chan will take animals in for the initial "chilling out" and medical attention, then help foster families with any support they need to train and care for the animals.  We can even provide your family with dog obedience lessons, donated food and other supplies.  Of course, our secret hope is that you will fall in love with the foster animal and adopt it :)  but your family is only committed to taking care of it while it works for you.    Please see the webpages with our foster application and contracts.  If it looks like something that interests you, you can copy the application text off the website and email or snailmail it to our office.  We will then either place a current rescue or keep you in mind as we check out local shelters for "rejects."  Thanks for your interest & support!

RESCUED CRITTERS NEEDING HOMES! (updated 11/24/09)

Cory is a 2 year old Cockapoo who was rescued off from the shelter just before his time was up. He was body-clipped so his fur will grow out fluffier than it is in this picture.        Cory is a cheerful little guy who gets along with everyone---dogs, cats, birds, people... He is housebroken and doesn't bark much. He loves to ride in the car. He currently lives at Phoenix Ranch in Vacaville.          Cory is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm-tested. We are asking a donation of $175 to cover the care he and other rescued animals receive.

For more information, call Dr. Chan at 530-219-0897 or email info@cetafoundation.com

J.D. was found shivering on the streets of Sacramento in early November. He is still very timid & doesn't like being around other male dogs so probably would be best as an only dog in an adult household or around kids who don't chase him around. J.D. currently being fostered in Sacramento. His foster mom is doing a great job of working with him---  He's been  neutered and will be HW-tested,vaccinated and microchipped before adoption.
